Another successful MODELS conference in the books

We presented two main-track papers and a poster at this year’s MODELS conference. In addition, we led the organization of two workshops.

Presented works

Sharon Liu, PhD candidate in our lab, presented her work “A Model-Driven Approach for Developing Families of Reinforcement Learning Environments” [preprint] in which she proposes a model-driven approach for developing families of RL training environments through a hybrid genetic algorithm that combines of population-based global search and heuristic local search, enacted through explicit model transformations. Sharon’s been on fire lately. This year alone, she published two CORE A conference papers (ICSA, MODELS), two book chapters (one in print, one here), and contributed to a workshop paper. I’m super excited about the remaining ~1.5 years of joint work!

I also presented our work with Philipp Zech (Prof, University of Innsbruck, Austria) “Model-Driven Data Contracts for Digital Twin Services” [preprint], in which we propose an approach to contract-based quality management in digital twins, including a formal framework, DSL, and architectural underpinnings.

Workshops

3st International Workshop on Sustainability and Modeling (SusMod) and International Workshop on Collaborative and Participatory Modeling (CoPaMo). The two events ran with a total of nine accepted papers.
